The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Updates for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Class Cost: $35.00 per person
Who should take this course?

The AHA Heartsave CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

HeartSaver First Aid, CPR & AED Class

Course: HeartSaver First Aid, CPR & AED Class
Course Description: The HeartSaver First Aid, CPR & AED Class is a course designed for anyone in the general public (non-healthcare provider) who needs an American Heart Association (AHA) HeartSaver First Aid, CPR & AED certification card. The State of Texas requires employees of day care facilities and certain businesses to have this certification. This is an instructor led class which uses the AHA HeartSaver instructional video along with hands-on skills practice. You will learn how to perform CPR using a pocket mask on adults, children and infants. You will also learn how to use an AED, provide First Aid, and how to manage a choking adult, child and infant. The cost of this course is $60.00 which includes the HeartSaver First Aid, CPR & AED workbook/student manual, pocket mask and certification card.
Classes will be held on a monthly basis, provided a minimum of five students are enrolled prior to 72 hours of the scheduled class time.

Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR & AED Class

Course: Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR & AED for Healthcare Provider
Course Description: The BLS, CPR & AED Course is a course primarily for individuals who are currently working in the healthcare profession (EMTs, Paramedics, CNAs, LVNs, RNs, etc.) This is an instructor led class that uses the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS instructional video along with hands-on skills practice. You will learn how to perform CPR using a bag valve mask (BVM) on adults, children and infants. Also covered in the course is AED use and what to do if you have an adult, child or infant that is choking. You will receive an AHA certification card after successful completion of a hands-on skills check-off and a written exam. The cost of this course is $35.00 which includes the BLS workbook/student manual and certification card.
Classes will be held on a monthly basis, provided a minimum of five students are enrolled prior to 72 hours of the scheduled class time.

TAKE 10

 

Course: Take 10 (Minutes to Learn Compression Only CPR)
Length of Course: 10 minutes
Course Description: Take 10 CPR is a nationally recognized program that the City of Georgetown Fire Department is promoting to improve cardiac arrest survival rates. These cardiac arrest survival rates drop dramatically when bystander CPR is not initiated within the first few moments after someone goes into cardiac arrest. This hands only CPR program allows our program coordinators to train large groups of people how to help us save lives in only 10 minutes. The program is free of charge, only takes 10 minutes to learn but does not include a certification card.
Class Cost: Free for City Residents/Businesses
