The Bike Team’s primary goal is to provide Emergency Medical coverage during crowded public events. The bicycle crews are equipped with specialized medical gear and can provide first response medical care to any crowd during Georgetown’s special events.

A major benefit of this program is mobility. They are able to quickly navigate through crowds, curbs and stairs with ease. The team has also shown to be an effective way to promote safe bicycle riding and injury prevention.

Another overseen benefit is public relations. The Bike Team being deployed to the festivals and races are well received by the general public. The teams are usually in the heart of the events and are very approachable.
